Set high above Swan Bay, Newstone Rise responds to a brief for a forever home connected to its landscape and the people who gather within it. Views across the river, surrounding hills and distant city shaped the design, with generous glazing drawing sunlight and scenery into the everyday spaces.

Timber cladding and textured masonry ground the home in its rural setting, while rising rooflines create volume and openness within. Inside, exposed timber beams, concrete floors and dark joinery meet warm copper tones and curved details, creating an interior that is both richly layered and distinctly personal.

At the heart of the home, a generous kitchen island provides a natural gathering place for cooking, conversation and entertaining. The main living space centres on the views and time together, reflecting the clients’ wish for a home where family and friends feel welcome. It offers room for family life to evolve, with the surrounding landscape always in view.
